Seattle local, Priscilla, aka "Pri", has been in the gaming industry for over 15 years. Starting out as an illustrator and she made her way into the realm of 3D as a skilled environment artist. She frequently works as an art vendor at comic conventions and enjoys collecting and playing boardgames.

Chris has 12 years of experience in the video game and tabletop industries, focusing primarily on stylized character art.  He has a passion for tech and scripting, which has helped him push pipelines and techniques to deliver optimal quality art.

Sr. Character Artist - Freelance - Remote

Work on multiple fun and interesting stylized projects! You'll be working closely with our Art Director and Project lead on how to produce high quality art for our clients. Looking for someone with enough professional experience to hit the ground running; work autonomously to a provided schedule and be able to problem-solve unique challenges that arise with each different client. Pie Trap looks for those with a professional attitude, paired with a warm and friendly personality. Outstanding communication skills are a must, and a willingness to learn new techniques for artistic growth is favored.

As part of the character team, you will be assigned to projects that most suit your skills and interests; which could range from mobile platforms, to VR, to marketing high renders. You will be working along side our Character lead and other teammates in a studio-like production. Your input is valuable and your ability to adapt to each project is crucial.

Requirements

  • 5+yrs of professional and applicable experience​

  • Portfolio that demonstrates strength in stylized characters

  • A portfolio that demonstrates knowledge of industry standard character pipeline

  • clean lowpoly modeling

  • Working knowledge of PBR pipeline

  • Autodesk Maya preferred

  • Substance Painter

  • Zbrush

  • Experience in Unity or Unreal Engines are a plus

  • Knowledge in rigging and weighting preferred

  • Ability to work in Pacific Standard Time preferred

Sr. Environment Artist - Freelance - Remote

As part of the environment team, you will be working along side the Environment lead and other teammates in a studio-like production. Projects will range from mobile and VR platforms to AAA standards. The ability to adapt to the needs of the client quickly and work in sync with your team is crucial. Your input and communication throughout projects are valuable and crucial for success.  

Requirements

  • 5+yrs of professional and applicable experience​

  • Portfolio demonstrating stylized art will be prioritized

  • A portfolio that demonstrates knowledge of industry standards for prop modeling and world building

  • clean lowpoly modeling

  • Working knowledge of PBR pipeline

  • Autodesk Maya preferred

  • Substance Designer a plus

  • Zbrush preferred

  • Experience in Unity or Unreal Engines

  • Level Design/Set Dressing preferred

Art Manager - Contract - Remote

Work on multiple fun and interesting projects! You'll be working closely with our owners, clients and art team, managing and reviewing deliverables to get the job done; and done right! 

As Art Manager, you'll be using your best judgement and experience as an artist to create schedules with our clients and artists that balance fast, quality work while staying true to a healthy work-life balance for our team. You'll be working with our clients, addressing their concerns and making sure we're successfully meeting their needs. You will be managing different sizes of art teams and frequently reviewing work to make sure our artists are on the right track.  You will be the point of contact to address our artists' concerns and managing team health while elevating company culture. 

You will need both, an artistic eye and a technical eye to review work and make sure all deliverables are up to Pie Trap standards. Knowledge in 3D programs is necessary for reviewing work. Skills in documentation for artists is also necessary.

Requirements

  • 3+yrs professional experience working as a production artist for game development

  • 3+yrs professional experience working as a lead or manager over a production team of more than 2 people

  • Knowledge in management tools such as google docs and sheets, Trello, etc.

  • Flexibility to work with international clients and workers of different time zones

  • Worked on at least 3 game titles meant for the AA or AAA market (cancelled titles included)

  • Ability to work in Pacific Standard Time preferred

  • High communication skills with artists

  • High client-facing communication skills

  • Experience in documentation

  • Outsource management experience
