Requirements

  • 5+yrs of professional and applicable experience​

  • Portfolio that demonstrates strength in stylized characters

  • A portfolio that demonstrates knowledge of industry standard character pipeline

  • Working knowledge of PBR pipeline

  • Autodesk Maya preferred

Animator - Contract - Remote

You will be working directly with the Project lead and other teammates in a studio-like production. Projects are fast-paced and will range from mobile and VR platforms to AAA standards. The ability to adapt to the needs of the client quickly and work in sync with your team is crucial. Your input and communication throughout projects are valuable and crucial for success.  

Requirements

  • 2+yrs professional experience working as an animator for game development

  • Worked on at least 2 game titles meant for the AA or AAA market (cancelled titles included)

  • Experience in various hand-keyed animation styles (mocap not required)

  • Experience with locomotion cycles and standard animation-sets

  • Experience working with gameplay team on animation requirements

  • Experience with full-performance cutscene animations

  • Experience/understanding of in-engine animation setup preferred

  • Experience in rigging/skinning a plus

  • Experience in 2d animation a plus

Social Media & Community Manager - Contract - Remote

Work closely with the Pie Trap team, understanding the company and being our public facing voice. You will be working to improve Pie Trap's outreach in the game developer landscape, as well as help growing a community for our game, Forage Friends. Develop social media campaigns and marketing strategies. Proactively adapt to the trends in the social media climate; focusing on fan growth, user acquisition and community retention. Pie Trap is a highly diverse studio and the ability to work with folks of different cultures, backgrounds, race, genders and orientation is an absolute MUST. 

You will be forward-facing for Pie Trap and may be asked to represent us at events, Twitch streams, interviews, etc. You are our marketer, our PR and our hype-man. You are our extraverted counterpart to our introverted devs.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a social media manager, community manager or marketing advisor 

  • Higher education in marketing, communication or business

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge in digital media software to create and edit content such as images and videos for posting

  • Currently working in or has a strong interest in the gaming and its industry

  • Multi-tasking skills

  • Advanced knowledge in social media platforms (Tiktok, Twitter, Meta, etc.)

As Environment Lead, you'll be using your best judgement and experience as an artist to create schedules with our clients and artists that balance fast, quality work while staying true to a healthy work-life balance for our team. You'll be working with our clients, addressing their concerns and making sure we're successfully meeting their needs. You will be managing different sizes of art teams and frequently reviewing work to make sure our artists are on the right track.  You will be the point of contact to address our artists' concerns and managing team health while elevating company culture. 

You will need both, an artistic eye and a technical eye to review work and make sure all deliverables are up to Pie Trap standards. Knowledge in 3D programs is necessary for reviewing work. Skills in documentation for artists is also necessary.

Looking for someone with a sophisticated eye for stylized art and flexibility to adapt to different project needs.

Jr. Level or Entry level artists will get a chance to work alongside veteran artists of the industry, with opportunity to be guided and trained in best industry practices. We ask all our artists for professionalism, excellent communication skills and dedication to the work they've been given. We ask those who are newer to the industry to come in with a hunger to learn; to ask questions and to use their time proficiently to better assist their team and improve personal growth.

Mid Level artists will have industry experience and an understanding of "the ropes" of a production pipeline. They will be highly communicative with their needs and inquisitive of the project's needs. They will have an understanding of best industry practices and will be working towards personal growth with senior staff. Narrative Designer + Writer - Freelance - Remote

Pie Trap is looking for a Narrative Designer/Writer with experience in implementing branching dialogue systems in game engine. We look for someone to take the initiative and responsibility of our project's narrative game mechanics and player interactions with lively NPCs. An ambitious self-starter that can work with production to identify asset dependencies, scope, and delivery schedules..

Our project requires someone communicative and collaborative; interfacing with art, UI and engineering departments. To have the ability to write for different perspectives, nail down unique character tone and be inclusive. The Narrative Designer will be responsible in creating the story bible, the NPC dialogue, Player Choices and consequences, technical writing and explanation of game design mechanics, etc.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of applicable experience in the gaming industry

  • 1+ shipped title for a project that is neither a personal nor student project

  • Strong understanding of story and game development process. Being a key contributor from prototype to polish is a huge plus.

  • Proven understanding of narrative-related pipelines and experience with some game-oriented scripting/implementation tools as well as scriptwriting tools (such as Articy, Twine, Unity Dialogue System or Final Draft)

  • Experience to effectively communicating with Engineers around technical implementation of tools and pipelines a plus

  • Narrative implementation into Unity

  • Exceptional communication, organization, documentation and interpersonal skills

  • Experience collaborating with team members on art, gameplay design                                                        and character development. 

  • Experience in writing and designing for branch dialogue systems
